What do Angel investors do?
If you play around on the web, follow any tech sites, use social media or have a start up, you could not fail to notice the term "angel investor" being thrown around. Which is not really the same as a "venture capitalist" who simply invests in new un-tested territory with a higher risk profile, sets his time frame and then takes his profit. The level of capitalzation often differs beween these two.
Angels investors, invest too, but want to be more involved in the whole process of guiding and enabling the entreprenuer with their start up. And may have a preference in a certain sector in accordance with their interests and experience.
But how do they operate? Where do they obtain the investment funds they use, and who regulates them? Most of these questions can be answered on the international business angels site. If you can't find your country, but its in Europe, e mail me I can connect you.

Networking initiatives like The Hatchery put angel-investors and business-start-ups together at
networking events across America.
It's the future of start ups with the Banks going shy on us, and the success stories are there, for those who have done their homework properly.
However, don't expect Business angels to go easy on you though, they may in some cases be much harder to please than banks, and you will have to practice jumping through hoops first.
